Accessory Dwelling Units & Garages

TerraWise Homes specializes in building ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units), Guesthouses, and Detached Garages (and maybe a chicken coop or two).

Structures can be built unfinished; basically a shell with bare studs, or finished; which can vary from insulation and drywall, to full on mini-homes.

Often, accessory structures need to be modified from one of our existing plans, or fully custom designed in order to meet lot/size constraints and customer needs.

We have already built more than 40 accessory structures just within Historic Springfield!

374sf ADU + Separate 2 Car Garage

Lot constraints for this projected required two separate structures; a full custom 374sf ADU/Studio and a separate 576sf 2 car garage

600sf ADU

This customer wanted to keep his mother close, while still allowing her independence and her own space; so we built a home for him, and an ADU behind, for her.

670sf ADU + Single Car Garage

This is the very first Carriage House we built way back in 2015!

It features a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment with a loft and a single garage space.

576sf ADU + 2 Car Garage

This build featured a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment over a 2 car garage. The designed features vaulted ceilings and separate entrances for the ADU and garage so the homeowner could use the garage and rent the ADU above.

379sf ADU + 2 Car Garage

This build featured a studio style apartment over a 2 car garage. The designed features vaulted ceilings wand separate entrances for the ADU and garage so the homeowner could use the garage and rent the ADU above.

2 Car Garage

This customer just wanted a basic 2 car garage with some small modifications: adding a pair of double doors to face the garage, and making the roof form a gable to match their home.
